A theme is a starting point, not a script

The theme sets the direction: brave, curious, gentle. The story is still built around your child, their age, and the details you share. Two superhero books for two different kids are two different books, because one of them has a dog named Biscuit who has to be rescued and the other one refuses to wear shoes.

Superhero

For the kid who runs into the room like they have a mission. The superhero here saves the day with kindness, not fists: a lost kitten, a friend who needs a hand, a mess nobody else would clean up. Cape optional. Bold Cartoon and Comic Pop are the illustration styles parents pick most for this one.

Space Explorer

For the child who points at the moon, asks what is up there, and waits for an answer. Friendly trips among the stars, a small rocket, a planet or two, and home in time for bed. Starlit Night is the style built for it, though Dreamy Watercolor turns it into a bedtime book.

Undersea Adventure

A softer kind of adventure: a friendly ocean, sea turtles, a bit of treasure, plenty of room for wonder. Good for the child who is more curious than brave, and for the youngest readers, since undersea stories go slowly by nature. Soft Pastel and Cozy Felt suit it.

Or no theme at all

Plenty of the best books skip the theme. A one year old does not need a rocket. They need a book about a kid who looks like them, eating breakfast, finding the cat, going to sleep. Leave the theme blank and the story is about an ordinary day with this particular child in it, which is the thing you will want to remember anyway.
