How a photo becomes their book

You send one clear photo and a few details. TinyStar turns them into a personalized story, checks the result, and delivers it as a printed board book or a digital story, whichever you choose.

1. Tell us about them

The form asks for a first name, an age, and one photo. Then a few details: what they love right now, a nickname, the thing they say every morning. There is a box for an occasion if there is one, a new sibling, a first day of school, a birthday, and a box for an adventure if you want the story to go somewhere: superhero, space, undersea. Or neither. Plenty of the best books are just a Tuesday with this particular kid in it.

Pick an illustration style from ten. Dreamy Watercolor if it is a bedtime book. Bold Cartoon if it is not. The style page shows all ten side by side.

2. You see a preview, free

Before you pay anything, we draw the cover and one inside spread from your photo and show them to you. This is the step that matters. If the child in the preview does not look like your child, change the photo, adjust the details, and preview again. Nothing is charged for a preview, and there is no limit on trying a different photo. When it looks right, you add it to the cart.

3. We write and illustrate the book

After checkout the full book is made: a story written to the age you gave us, ten illustrated spreads, a front cover with their name, a back cover. A one year old's book has short lines and a phrase that repeats. A five year old's has a plot. The details you typed are the difference between a book about a child and a book about this one.

4. A person checks every page

Before anything is printed or emailed, someone looks at every spread for quality and safety: does the child look like the photo, is the text right, is anything off. That is why the review step exists. It is also why we can offer the guarantee below without flinching.

5. It ships, or it lands in your inbox

The printed board book takes 3 to 5 business days to print and 5 to 8 to ship, about two weeks door to door in the United States. If you added the $10 digital PDF during checkout, it is emailed first, before the printed book arrives. The standalone $19 digital story is emailed after review and never ships.

6. If it is wrong, you choose the fix

If the finished book does not look like your child, if the story is wrong, or if the book arrives damaged, email support within 30 days of delivery and pick a free redo or a full refund. The guarantee in full is here. What we cannot refund is a change of mind after printing, because a book with your child's face on it cannot be resold.

Prices: one board book $49. Two board books $89 together with free US shipping. Digital story PDF $19 on its own, or $10 added to a board book order. What happens to the photo afterward has its own page, in plain words.

Questions parents ask

Can I add an adventure or occasion theme?

Yes. You can steer the story toward an adventure or occasion, such as superheroes, space, undersea, birthdays, holidays, or becoming a big sibling. Both are optional.

Do I need more than one photo?

No. One clear photo of your child, face toward the camera, is all the book needs. A phone photo is fine.

How long does the whole thing take?

About two weeks door to door in the United States: 3 to 5 business days to print and 5 to 8 to ship. A digital PDF add-on is emailed before the printed book arrives.

What ages is the book written for?

Ages one to six. The story is written to the age you give: short repeating lines for a one year old, a full plot for a five year old.
