What the review looks for
Does the child on every spread look like the child in the photo, and like the child on the previous spread. Is the name spelled the way you typed it, every time. Does the text on each page make sense out loud and match the picture. Is there anything in the artwork a parent would not want in a child's book. Are the pages in order, is the cover right, is the back cover right. Boring questions, asked about every page, before anything is printed.
Why it is done by a person
Generated illustrations fail in ways a program does not notice: a hand with the wrong number of fingers, a face that drifts between pages, a line of text that is grammatical and wrong. A person catches those in seconds. Automated checks run too, on story structure and on the text, but the last look before print is a human one.
What happens when a page fails
It gets redrawn or rewritten and checked again. This is the part you never see and the reason a book takes a few days to produce rather than a few minutes. Each regeneration is a real cost on our side, which is a good incentive to get the details right at the start: the clearer the photo and the truer the details, the fewer passes the book needs.
The preview is the first review, and it is yours
Before you pay, you see the cover and one spread drawn from your photo. That is your chance to catch a likeness that is off, a name typo, or a style that does not suit the child. Change it and preview again, free. A book that passes your preview and our review is a book that has been looked at twice by people who care whether it is right.
And if it still arrives wrong
Email support@tinystarbooks.com within 30 days of delivery, with photos if the book is damaged, and choose a free redo or a full refund. The guarantee in full. Review makes that guarantee rare to use. It does not make it hard to use.

That the child looks like the photo on every spread and consistent between spreads, the name is spelled as you typed it, the text on each page makes sense and matches the picture, and nothing in the artwork is unsuitable for a child's book.
